Open Farm Sunday is nearly here!
We’re so excited about Open Farm Sunday, we thought we’d give you a few updates! For regular updates, check our event page on Facebook!
We have lots of activities planned for you!
You’ll get to meet the farmer on our super popular trailer rides! On the trailer, our farmers will talk you through how we produce the food that's on the supermarket shelves, and in your belly!
There’ll be even more farmers here to talk to you all about the machinery on display that gets used in modern farming. Expect to see combine harvesters, tractors, sprayers, and more!
Urban Worm CIC will be here to give you a go at making worm farms, and discussing the importance of wriggly worms for soil health and the natural environment. On one of our farm club worm farming days, one of the children described worms as “Heroes of the Earth” and we couldn’t agree more! Pop down and see for yourself!
Some of our partners such as the RSPCA; Mind; Childrens University; Yorkshire Wildlife Trust; RSPB; and Farmstar will be attending with activities and information on the work they do, and how they link in with the natural environment.
Now for the best bit- we’re having a BBQ filled with locally produced food! Fingers crossed for a lovely bit of sun to enjoy it in!
On top of that, there will be plant sales, Hall Farm Honey, a raffle, and local produce from Gastronomy- what more could you want from a Sunday?!
We’d love to see some new and familiar faces. We’ll be open from 10am-4pm, so pop in and say hi! It’s free entry for Open Farm Sunday, so bring the whole family!
On the day, dogs aren’t allowed on site, and we have disabled parking only onsite. There will be lots of livestock and children around, so we don’t want any accidents- we hope you understand!
